Dutch Government starts new funds for pilot investment projects

RESS-RELEASE

3 December 2007. Local companies who want to set up a pilot investment in their country with a Dutch business partner can now apply for financial support for up to 50% of the project-costs. This financial support is provided through the Dutch ‘Programme for Co-operation with Emerging Markets’ (PSOM), with the objective to promote sustainable economic and private sector development. Maximum project size can be EUR 1,500,000.

The new qualification round starts 3 December 2007. On 20 February 2008 at 15.00 PM, the original proposal has to be received by the EVD (the Dutch government agency responsible for PSOM) in the Netherlands. The required documents are available at Externe link www.psom.nl/

PSOM is not limited to specific sectors. To qualify, the projects should be commercially viable, aim at introducing a new but proven technology for the region it is located, stimulate the transfer of knowledge, and have a positive impact on employment and income generation. The projects has to be set up as a joint venture consisting of at least one Dutch company (applicant) and one local company.

The application procedure for PSOM consists of only one phase, the qualification phase, during which the final responsibility lays with the EVD. However, companies can request an informal advice from the EVD to see whether their idea possibly fits the PSOM programme. For this, the company will have to download the obligatory intake form from the website Externe link www.psom.nl/

For more information on the PSOM programme please see our website Externe link www.psom.nl

The Programme for Cooperation with Emerging Markets (PSOM) is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs/Development Cooperation and by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs.
