Foundation of the Rehabilitation Centre for the Sentenced Juveniles

Project aims to establish rehabilitation centre for juvenile offenders in Batumi. The Centre will provide different skills trainings and offer psycho-social rehabilitation activities for approximately 50 previously sentenced juvenile through the project.  Centre will also provide assistance in improvement of learning processes and conditions and if needed, assist the juvenile ex-offenders in preparation of the national entrance exams and improving their school education. Project also envisages trainings for the personnel of the Batumi Probation Bureau in methods of working and rehabilitation of juvenile offenders.

Tourism Vocational Education Support and Public Awareness of Importance of Tourism Development

Project focuses on development of tourism vocational education in Ajara. IBDIPC will improve syllabus and introduce new curricula, prepare Georgian study materials. Organisation will also develop on-line resources for tourism education that will provide public with information related to the tourism education and tourism related issues. Two training modules: Hospitality Sector Training and Restaurant Service Training will be offered free of charge for young people.

Less Stigma More Tolerance in Gldani Community

Project aims to increase tolerance towards people with mental health problems in Gldani community. Awareness raising and advocacy work will be carried out with adolescents living in Gldani. Activities include educational-interactive meetings with young people, joint activities together with people with mental health problems, seminars and role plays, meetings with patients of mental health hospitals who are attending art-therapy group, etc.

Energy Efficiency Top Down Approach – Improving Energy Performance of Government Building

Project envisages to increase awareness on environmentally friendly energy saving technologies and measures among the energy managers and employees of various state buildings and changing their attitudes towards energy consumption. Advocacy Campaign on Raising Public Awareness on Electoral Rights and their Protection

Overall goal of the project was to support free and fair National Assembly Elections in Armenia. Within the project framework organisation has distributed leaflets on various election related topics in Yerevan, Syunik, Gegharkunik, Tavush, Shirak and Lori regions. Organisation has also maintained information-hotline, website and provided legal advise to 458 citizens who approached AYLA offices.

Community Involvement in Preservation of Debed River Base and Forests of Armenian-Georgian Border

Project goal is to find solutions to the problems of pollution of the Debed river and deforestation of the green belts of Lori and Tavoush regions of Armenia. Lori Young Economists will address the problems through raising awareness among the young population of this region and involving them in the cleaning and preservation works. Activities include tree planting and clean-up actions, seminars and discussions, film shows and discussions, information dissemination.

Protected Women – Healthy Society

Project aims to improve protection of women and children victims of domestic violence. Ajakits will raise awareness on the existing articles of law that provide protection against DV among the in-service policemen. Trainings and seminars will also be provided for teachers of kindergarten to raise awareness on DV among children, forms and protection opportunities. Human Rights in TV: Practical Journalism School for University Students

Two journalism school sessions addressing the human rights issues and media will be conducted for students of journalism departments in winter and summer of 2007 and 2008.
