On 14th of March 2008, Mr. Ton Lansink, Managing Director of CBI and Mr. Jemal Inaishvili, President of Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed the Partnership Agreement between CBI and GCCI.

The purpose of the partnership is to contribute to creating economic prosperity through direct support to the private and public export sector and their intermediate support organizations in Georgia. The partnership aims at creating synergies between the two organizations for the benefit of their clients. It is built on the common mission of the two organizations to contribute to trade-led development by strengthening the competitiveness of firms and promoting their participation in international trade with EU and EFTA countries.

Since October 2006 (when Georgia has been put on the country list of CBI) agency became quite active in Georgia.

On 28-30 November 2007, CBI together with the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized an educational seminar on EU market strategy and EU market access requirements. 22 Georgian companies participated in it.

In the tourism field, Georgian and Armenian companies have cooperated in the organization of the first workshop in the border region. Since then, four Georgian tourism organisations (with the help of CBI) have participated at the “Vakantiebeurs” (International Tourism Fair in Utrecht) in January 2008.

The programme Personal Protective Equipment 2001-2010, has been running for a long time already. Currently there are two Georgian companies participating in the ECP (Export Coaching Programmes).
