Georgia is a member of the Dutch constituency group at both the World Bank and the IMF. For more information about the constituency group, please open the following link. In the framework of the constituency relationship, and Georgia being a partner country for Development Cooperation for the Dutch Government, the Netherlands has provided assistance to Georgia via central budget lines of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague as well as with the delegated funds portfolio managed at the Embassy in Tbilisi.

The strategy of the Embassy funds portfolio is outlined in the Multi Annual Strategy Plan (MASP) of which you find a brief summary below. Furthermore small funds in the framework of the Civil Society Transformation Programme (Matra). For information about the Matra programme please click here.

Bilateral Assistance

In view of the constituency relationship, stimulating good economic governance has been a priority in the support of the Netherlands to Georgia from the beginning. The Multi Annual Strategic Plan (MASP) as well as further elaboration of the Embassy’s strategies point towards a need for a gradual shift of emphasis from good economic governance into good economic and good political governance.


Multilateral Assistance

In addition to the bilateral assistance managed by the Embassy, central budget lines from the Ministries (POBB, TMF / MFS, Stability Funds, etc) in The Hague have been committed to multilateral assistance and to (international) organisations.
